Originally uploaded by leggomylexa. Andrew Bird was such a great show last Wednesday. He brought along Martin Dosh to play with him, and they made a wonderful duo. Bird would play a few strings on his violin, push a button, play over it, push a button, play over it and on and on and on, building up the song. He would add mesmerizing whistles and dings from his mini xylophone while practically abusing his violin, using it in any way possible. Then out of nowhere (slung around his back) he would whip out his guitar and jam away. After the show, Anthony quickly ran backstage to his dressing room and I cautiously followed. He turned to me and said "I got you this far, now it's just up to you!" I whipped out my Andrew Bird poster which Anthony snuck off Schoolkid's wall a few days before, and approached Bird as the most apologetic and giddy girl possible (for I had entered his personal bubble without permission). He gladly signed my poster after asking my name. I thanked him, stepped out, did a little dance, and then tried to decifer what the hell he had written. "To Alexa, with affection, Andrew Bird," along with various lines and flamboyant markings all around. ^_^
