I haven't written here in ages. Well, there's not much to tell, so it isn't surprising. Probably the most exciting thing so far this summer was Harry Potter, and now it's over with... it was very difficult, but overall I'm happy with the way things ended with the series. Everything I'd predicted came true (well, except for Dumbledore's past) so I can't complain too much. :P I think the worse part was knowing that when you finished the book the journey would be over. It sounds bizarre to say this, but I hadn't really understood the whole "it's not the destination, it's the journey" mode of thought until I finished the book. This has been one heck of a journey, and if I could live it over again I would, and wouldn't do anything different. It was exciting, not knowing how things would turn out. Yes, you can always reread the books... but it isn't the same. Closing the last book was closing a chapter of my childhood, and it was a difficult thing to do.
This sounds kind of sad and all, but it isn't really. Harry isn't going anywhere; he'll always be there, in books and online and in our thoughts. We have more movies and someday more books about Hogwarts and the Wizarding World, and maybe, if we're lucky, actual stories. This part of the journey has ended, but really, it's only a smaller journey in the middle of a much larger one.
