Part 4 Gumshoe is waiting for him at the Police Department. He's holding a piece of paper in his hands and is frowning.
"May I have the medical report Detective Gumshoe?" Edgeworth slams a hand on the desk. Gumshoe jumps, sending the paper to the ground. He bends, picks it up and hands it to Edgeworth.
"Here you go sir!"
He skims the report. It doesn't tell him much. He flips it over. The other side is much more interesting. "Was there a struggle?"
Gumshoe nods. "We think so sir. There were bits of skin found underneath his fingernails. We don't know who it belongs to yet. We also found a bit of blood on the stairwell. We're analyzing that too. Here" he picks up a photograph from the desk and hands it to Edgeworth.
Edgeworth studies it. There are a few blood droplets which have smeared. They show the faint imprint of a shoe. There is also a small square shaped piece of metal lying on the ground.
"Who is the Prosecutor for this case Detective Gumshoe?"
Gumshoe frowns. "It's Prosecutor Skye pal, but don't worry, she's pretty fair."
Wright's mentor....I wonder why Wright became like this...it certainly wasn't because she was his mentor. Wright doesn't seem to be lying about his memory problem and everything else he told me can be confirmed by the evidence...Something's wrong with this case and I need to find out what it is. "You searched the apartment correct?"
Gumshoe nodded. He doesn't look too happy about it. "Yeah, we found a large quantity of blood in the kitchen. Preliminary analysis says it's not the victim's. We're still analyzing it. "
"How can you still be analyzing everything?"
"We've run into some trouble sir. One of our technicians has gone missing, so everything's a bit slow right now."
"Very well, continue."
Gumshoe nodded. "Yes sir! We found a second knife in the sink. We know that it wasn't the weapon used to hurt the victim. There was also blood on the counter top and some pen ink. " He hands another picture to Edgeworth.
There are the faint imprints of words on the counter. They're confined to one area and the rest of the counter is unusually clean, except for the blood droplets on the edge. Could the note have been written here?
"Thank you for your help Detective Gumshoe." Edgeworth tucks the evidence into the briefcase.
"Glad I could help sir!" Gumshoe salutes him. Edgeworth gives him a nod and strides out the door.
