Pain's Universe-Part 3

Sep 05, 2011 18:21

Just before sunrise the pain went away. Soft light filtered through the trees as a mound of earth moved and cracked. Germany rose from the ground, dirt falling away from his clothes. There was a quiet whoosh and Loki appeared.

'I didn't summon you', Germany tried to say, but his voice was still the wind and there was no wind here.  Instead, he raised an eyebrow and Loki and attempted to get rid of the dirt on his pants. Loki looked at him and laughed.

"And what have you been doing?" He stepped closer. Germany shrugged and tugged at his shirt. The dirt didn't budge. "You're gonna have to wash that." Loki gestured to the shirt.

Why are you here  , Germany thought at him.

An expression of surprise crossed Loki's face. "You know, I actually heard that."  He dug out a PDA and scrolled through it. "This thing is really useful. I got it to piss of Odin,  but it's turning out to be more useful than that."

Your point?

Loki snapped his fingers. "Ah, yes. Did you know you're really powerful? The pain that you're feeling was supposed to have dissipated after your war ended. But, since you managed to block it out during said war, you're feeling it now."

It'll get worse?

Loki nodded.  "You're feeling the pain felt at the near end of the war, which means that it'll get worse."

How bad?

Loki shook his head. "I have no idea. It's been suppressed for a long time. Even this little bit caused a lot of damage." Germany gave him a worried look. "Everyone's fine," Loki said in response to the unasked question. "Some buildings got a little damaged and your brother is panicking because he can't find you."

I have to get home!

"Yeah, you'd better hurry." Germany hurried out of the forest and started towards home. "Oh, and one more thing," Loki called after him. "I still haven't determined your price, but I'll get  back to you on that soon. It's not everyday, I get a personification to make a deal with me." He gave a wave and vanished. Germany hurried home, to where Prussia was waiting in the doorway with a murderous expression on his face.

"Hallo West, " Prussia said, icicles hanging from his tone. Germany opened his mouth, but frowned as he realized that he still hadn't gotten his voice back.

"Can't speak?" Germany shook his head. Prussia grinned-it was not a nice smile. "Good, then you can listen." 'I'm sorry for worrying you,' Germany thought at him, but Prussia didn't hear.  "There was an earthquake." Prussia continued in the same tone. " I went to check up on you, because I was worried and you weren't there."  Germany nodded and did his best to look contrite. It must have worked because Prussia signed and stepped aside. "What's going on with you West? You're really worrying me." Germany tried to blink away the moisture in his eyes. It was nice to know his brother cared, but he couldn't tell him the truth.

Don't worry, I'm ok.
