so a friend of mine recently was thinking up an adventure/galget game and i thought to myself as i read his description of the game that he would create... as much as he admits that its unrealistic, it still allows you to likely get the girl or girls that you want (minus a few of his created girls, that is).
i then thought to myself, hey, what if we made it MORE realistic? what if we made a game where you could not possibly get any girl no matter how hard you tried. here is the basic idea...
there are multiple girls, of course, and probably a guy or two besides yourself. the girls are very non-cliche bishoujo girls. there is the FPS girl (gamer), the MMO girl(casual gamer), the "next door" girl (likes girly things and shopping), the artsy girl, the scholarly girl, the architect girl (er yeah), and the onee-san. the onee-san role is a typical one, but im sure we can think of a way to give it a non-typical twist. all of these girls are "available" and they do go to school with you except the onee-san girl. they treat you like a friend and, on occasion, you notice hints of more. when you pursue these girls they will seem like they are beginning to like you, but due to various circumstances, personal preferences, or them ending up dating your previously mentioned "guys" instead of you.
the interesting part is that you as a player might notice which girl or girls might actually have an interest in you, but your character will remain clueless and your options will reflect this.
the only girl you can actually "hook up" with is the onee-san. ultimately, this relationship will not work out, though, and she will leave you and/or use you for the things you are good at such as information mining or advice about motor vehicles.
ok. this is a great idea in hiding. i need to develop it more.

on the way home from arizona, i saw a manta ray in the sky... as well as a great, dark hand reaching eastward over los angeles.
