Guess My Meal: Breakfast
I ain't gonna lie. I was waiting all week for this one.
This would be my attempt at Cap'n Crunch crusted french toast. I saw it on tv somewhere...I want to say food network and I was like....I have to try this. But around here it's really hard to get decent sized bread. No where can I find Texas Toast. So I went waaay out of the way to get a nice Brioche. Buttery, bready goodness.
So I went all out and did cream as well for the custard. I cut the bread up all thick and nice. Smashed up the cap'n berries and all. They coated the bread pretty good. Butter in skillet and away I went. The cap'n definately added a nice crust to the bread. The final product...
So all in all I had it hyped up in my head more than I should have. The cap'n added nothing in terms of flavor in my mind. Texture wise it was great. I loved the crunch in contrast to the airyness of the brioche. So it was definately good, I was just thinking it would be amazing. Would I do it again? hmmm...not sure. The brioche was the star of this meal, as it should've been. I just expected more from the cap'n for some reason.
