So, last night I went to the charity gig put on by Russell Brand at the Lyceum for Focus 12 (the drugs rehab people who sorted him out). And it was made of awesome. Russell and Noel Fielding did their Goth Detectives bit that was so popular when they did Big Fat Quiz of the year. Simon Anstil (that how you spell it? The guy that took over from Mark Lemar on Buzzcocks anyway) was funny, and Noel and Russell each did an individual stand up spot and were both fantastic. Although Noel seemed a little less spontaneous than usual because we'd heard some of the material at the TCT gig back in March. Still, didn't stop it being funny.
But the evening had to belong to Matt Horne and James Cordon from Gavin and Stacey. They performed some sketches that they'd written expecially for it and were just hilarious. This is a clip I found on YouTube of the last and funniest of the sketches. The beginning, unfortunately missing, introduces them as magic act Johnny & Lee Miller and they then proceed to perform the magic.
I had a camera, but I was laughing too hard to record them!
