Hi :D

Sorry for my late reply - I had to go to bed. It was already 5 AM when I wrote this, haha. But sooo worth it.

Because honestly, all I've ever wanted for Dean was peace, happiness, and he can get that with her and Ben. The number of reasons as to why this works are enormous in magnitude.
Yes, he definitely deserves it. I'm not sure though if he will ever find it with Lisa and Ben. I think he HAS to hold on to something, that's just who he is. He has never been alone, has always had someone to look after. Now Sammy is gone, he's in hell - and of course Dean WANTS to go and save him... but he can't because a) he made a promise and b) the last time the both of them tried to save each other, they started the Apocalypse. Maybe NOT going after Sam is Dean's version of growing up like he said to Sam at the beginning of this episode - for once he stands back and things of the bigger picture.

I don't think he could ever recover from the knowledge that Sam is rotting in hell, not after all the things he has had to experience down there. But he also knows that he CAN'T go after him because that would put the entire world in danger again. It's a very different kind of responsibility... and he's ready to take it even if 'every fiber he's got wants to die or bring Sam back' as Chuck has said.

He won't kill himself though because I'm sure that he is clinging to that very small hope that maybe Sam will get saved - just like he himself was. After all, Castiel is still alive. Maybe... he will bring Sam back, and when that happens? Dean has to be around to take care of his brother.. that's all he knows.
And as I have said before, saving Sam is out as well. So there's nothing left than to keep his promise and find Lisa. At least TRY to give the peace and quiet a shot - he probably won't manage, but hell, just the fact hat he's trying is enough. And obviously, Lisa and Ben are the closest thing to a family Dean has left. (except for Bobby of course, but there's too many memories, way too much hardship with him).

Gee, I'm sorry for rambling. I don't even know if this made any sense at all - I'm still half asleep.

Good luck with your test today!! ♥ ♥ (haha, the alt+3 thingy doesn't work for me ;_;)

This is different than any other relationship I've ever seen, love story or otherwise. Zachariah wasn't over exaggerating when he was talking about their co-dependency.

I used to madly in love with the Harry Potter series (still am, but it is kind of fading) and one of the things I enjoyed most about it was the blatant emphasis on LOVE. Especially the pure and undeniable POWER of love... that's how HP defeated Voldemort in the end - the exact same way. There was no magic involved, no special power, certainly no special kind of skill on Harry's part - just... love; pure and simple. THAT'S what saved the world... And God, I could spend hours just talking about all the wonderful layers and themes and moral playground the story carries within itself. But anyway... what I actually meant to say with this: I think the most amazing stories, the ones that make us think and feel and cry and emote are always those that speak from the heart. The outline can be crazy, and 'supernatural', it can include magic and impossible journeys and the impersonation of the ultimate evil - in the end, only one thing truly matters: that the heroes are human, that they make mistakes - lots of them - that they lose hope, act selfish and irrational, cry and laugh and bitch and moan. As long as 'love conquers all' the story hits the watcher/reader exactly at the one spot where it hurts and pleases the most... because I truly think that this is the HEART of being human. And no matter how much it hurts, it still gives us (as in, the fans) a sense hope to see something like that portrayed on TV (or in books).

Because ultimately, what we can gather from all these tales is exactly one thing: no matter how impossible the odds seem to appear, there is ALWAYS reason for hope. There is this one thing we people have that has not been defeated yet. No story has ever defeated our driving force... (which is love) and Sam and Dean? They are the embodiment of that force in every possible way. On top of all that, I also think it's brilliant how Show doesn't only portray the awesome super-power of love, but also the destructive desperation it carries all around itself ♥

(and I mean this in the best possible way - the thing I love the most about him what huge capacity he has in his heart), having moments of happiness but always with a lingering sadness that never goes away.

Oh god, that is so so true. I think someone once mentioned that he has a heart of gold... and ever since I read that, I can't unthink it anymore. When I first got into SPN I would have NEVER guessed that I could ever say something like that about a guy who looks like a model and a macho-wannabe-badass all the time. But then again, 'Dead In The Water' changed my mind pretty quickly xD

Don't worry about spelling mistakes, bb! I know the feeling - I always worry about grammar mistakes and I feel that stupid urge to let everyone know all the time that English isn't my first language. Just so I can make sure that I don't get judged on language alone (that's my little perfectionist making an appareance. Say hi! xD).
