That's an excellent, thorough essay! Thanks for making the effort to put it all together for us.

It was no great hardship to re-watch all 15 Sharpes as research for this essay. ;) I had a great time.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the result. Thank you!

(Have you found what you needed to feed your plotbunny, btw? I'm no help, having read only one of the books, but I'm interested to see what comes of your idea. *g*)

Heh! :DDD

Oh, the folks at look_sharpe were incredibly helpful. If I ever manage to tackle that bunny, I shall have to thank them again. (Big fat 'if', though -- I often put my notes and drafts away for months in a row when writer's block hits...)

YAY for good info! And omg I hear you about writer's block. The number of bunnies I have languishing - files of notes, partially completed drafts, even the ones that are just items on a list - is truly mind-boggling. Thank goodness hard drive space is cheap. ;) That way I can keep them around until I can actually *do* something with them.

I am sorry for reading and commenting this late, because of RL stuff. I really love and compliment you with the essay; you did an excellent job. I run a Sean Bean website : The Mighty Bean, on which I have a large Sharpe section: here I would love to have your essay on it, with full credits of course. of you'd allow me.

It looks great!

One tiny tweak I might suggest is to mention in your intro that the essay deals only with the movies and not with the books, to avoid confusion, since the movies differ fairly significantly from the book!verse in places.

And I see that the formatting went a little screwy here and there - probably because I used MS Word to create the original document. Sometimes where I have a dash (-) your page shows –, but that's a pretty minor thing. And I'm sure the Word formatting for the footnotes really gave you fits, in which case it's a good call to leave them out. People can always find them here, if they are curious. *g*

Other than that it looks good. Thanks again!

Will mention the movieverse and will try to get the weird puntuation out!
