New Deadlines! (oh and some other stuff)
Okay, it seems we've reached a deadline consensus!
The New Deadlines
Remember, all moderator-controlled dates are based out of the US, on EST. But when it comes to posting your fic, as long as it’s your assigned posting date wherever you are, feel free!
August 31, 2009: Writer Sign-ups Close
December 20, 2009: Fic First Drafts and Summaries Due, Artist Sign-ups Close
December 21, 2009: Artist Claiming
January 15, 2009: Art First Drafts Due
February 1, 2009: Posting Begins!
"Posting in Jan/Feb: Deadline Before Holiday Season" won our Deadline Poll narrowly with 44% of the votes. Because Clex and I are completely OCD and we cannot conceive of starting posting on a random day in the middle of a month, this means posting will start on February 1, 2010!
In order to give the artists (all two of us, at this point, lol) time to work on the art for their chosen story, and so I can get the claims post up before my house explodes with relatives, that means first drafts (finshed with no placeholders, but you are welcome and encouraged to add to and edit the heck out of it after it's submitted) will be due on December 20, 2009. Claims post will go up December 21, 2009. Don't forget you can always submit your draft early, if you're an overachiever or headed out of town for the holidays. And for the one or two of you I've heard from who asked about submitting two stories, you loveable crazies, I say go for it!
For those of you doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) or the Mini version of the same, who don't already have a project, remember, NaNo is a fandom-friendly challenge! You could always include your Big Bang as part of your word count!
Expect to see more information in the form of an F.A.Q here shortly, since we've thought of some things we want to address, and we've had some really interesting questions.
In light of the new deadline, we are also pushing the closing date for sign-ups back. Writer sign ups will close August 31, 2009 and artist sign ups will close on Deadline Day, December 20, 2009. In the meantime, check out our Promotion and Pimping post for sparkly graphics you can use to tell your friends about us!
Thanks so much for working with us on this and giving us such awesome feedback about what dates work best for you, guys! It's been a real pleasure to try and hash all this out with such great fans. Hopefully these dates alleviate the time crunch and give you all the time to create amazing stories and art. Thanks again!
