the holiday season sucks. There's really no way around it. Statistically speaking, depression is a lot higher during the holiday season. That translates to thousands of people waiting for the perfect opportunity to off themselves, with only a few actually succeeding...
I digress.
quite possibly the one true joy during the holiday season is thanksgiving. I'm not commemorating the slaughter of thousands of innocents (at least not intentionally) but the opportunity to prepare a small feast with my brother is so much fun. We got up this morning, prepared a small shopping list which included some cornish game hens (they thaw faster and are easier to cook than a full grown turkey), stuffing (stove top this year, but I did make some orgasmic stuffing from scratch a few years back), and a few other essentials (beer, wine, vodka), picked those up and prepared a feast fit for two kings that tasted pretty damn good if we do say so ourselves.
I'm thankful for opportunities such as this to cook and bond and also for friends and family that see you through the darkest hour and make every waking moment bearable.
Enough with the sentimentals...how about you?
