Walk for PKD 2010
Hey everyone! It's that time of year again! Where I beg ask you to break out the cash and credit cards and checkbooks and donate generously to a great cause - me the PKD Foundation, by sponsoring me for the 2010 Central Jersey Walk for PKD.
As you all probably know by now, PKD runs in my family. My Dad has had two kidney transplants and is doing really well. That's the only way to combat the disease at the moment - transplant. There is no cure. There is no treatment. And my sister and I have a 50-50 chance of having PKD, as it's a genetic disease. But there is hope. The PKD Foundation is working constantly to increase awareness of the disease, and to raise money to fund research into finding a cure.
And that's what the Walk for PKD is all about. It's the Foundation's signature fundraising event. Any amount of money will be greatly appreciated. And when I say any, I mean any. Seriously. $1. $5. $20. $100. More if you want. I won't say no. I accept cash or check (made out to me the PKD Foundation). Or, even easier, go online to my Walk page and donate via credit card:
