Since May 22, teachers in Oaxaca have been on strike to protect public
education and to oppose a corrupt local government. Their struggle has been supported
by community groups in Oaxaca, and has developed into a social struggle pitting
the people of Oaxaca against a repressive state.
The teachers and people of Oaxaca need your support and solidarity.
Join us for a presentation on the current state of the struggle in Oaxaca.
Featuring Fernando Mendoza Perez, a Oaxacan teacher and leader in the APPO (Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca)
Sponsored by the Oakland Education Association; AFSCME Local 3299, Oakland AFT Local 771
