we got into new temporary groups in class on monday, and everyone in my group seemed bizarrely freaked out that i was a senior (they were all sophomores or juniors), and i couldn't figure out why that was remotely noteworthy. today we were back in our normal groups, so i decided to see if age was what freaked out my monday group.

i asked everyone in my group how old they think i'm turning in a month. guesses ranged from 22 to 25, and when i asked if that's really how old i look, the guy in my group said he thought i looked 20 but he knew i was a senior so he went with 22. suck up. they all completely spazzed when i told them i was turning 31. they even made me get out my license to prove i wasn't lying.

apparently, the freaking out had nothing to do with the age they thought i was. i must say that i'm pleased that i apparently haven't aged in like 15 years (at some point in middle school or high school i went to one of those guess your age stations at an amusement park and they guessed i was several years older than i was at the time).
