With the heightened scrutiny of late of online freedom of expression through blogs or social networking platforms, one thankfully counts one's blessings for the low profile and outreach and readership of my own avenue for output.
It would be an understatement that my posts and entries sometimes cross the OB markers, be it on grounds of impropriety, modesty or sensitivity of the content, to name a few off the top of my head. Then again, for the long-winded and convoluted path my writing takes, perhaps the reader gets bored and switches off before getting to the crux of the matter.
What's that line that they draw? Opinions are fine, after all it's a matter of subjective reception and objective expression, but libel is when you tread on "the-worst-(or insert other superlative)-in-the-world" territory, where the claim cannot be measured much less substantiated.
The thing is far too many people take things at face value, believing everything they see or hear or read, without even contemplating the small print, which exists even when there is none. Take everything you see, hear or read with a pinch of salt, and everything will be fine. I think, therefore I am? I think not! Therefore I am not.
