Now, before you make a police report, kinky fetishes aside, there's nothing quite like smells to tantalise the senses. Freshly baked bread, just mown grass, coffee beans in the grinder, all of which tickle, tease and tempt the sensory receptors and olfactory nerve endings in the nasal cavity.
It is this very same sensitivity that makes our stomachs turn with smells that are on the polar opposite of the fragrance scale. We may flinch at blood and gore and cower at lightning and thunder, but there's nothing quite like a gradual and casual assault on your senses like a foul smell working its way into your consciousness. It's mind over matter they say, but they haven't seen the snowball effect of projectile vomiting...
