About the show personality:
Crown Prince of Camelot Arthur Pendragon (it’s a mouthful I know), appears to be nothing more than a bully at first. He’s aggressive, arrogant, and a bit of a prat to be honest. He's a stereotypical stuck up Prince who's never had anyone talk back to him - at least not until he meets Merlin. His domineering attitude comes to a crashing halt when it comes to Merlin because he is the one person not afraid to talk back to Arthur. The Prince gradually begins to open up more and as the series progresses, it becomes apparent that there is more to Arthur than what is initially seen. Underneath all the attitude, Arthur is noble and kind and just. He is seen caring for the people of the kingdom, even the lowly villagers whom Uther might dismiss. He has a strong sense of morality and is unafraid to question his father's decisions and occasionally, even go against them for the sake of doing what he believes is right. (Ex: He sets Mordred free while Uther wishes to execute him because he knows that Mordred has done Camelot no harm as of yet.)
Arthur nobleness also shines through when it is seen that he is willing to lay his life down for Merlin -- and at times, Camelot as an extension. He cares a lot for the people around him and is willing to go to great lengths to ensure their safety and well being. This applies even to people who he may not know personally, such as Merlin's mother, and it reflects upon his character positively as he is willing to help people in trouble despite Ealdor being out of Camelot's boundaries.
However, Arthur, much like most humans, is not saintly. He still has his faults from time to time. One of the bigger ones being his stubborn nature. It is what keeps him from initially admitting that he fancies Gwen. He thinks it is better to stay away as he believes nothing can ever happen between them - it is the same stubborn nature that makes him lie and say that it was Morgana who sent him to rescue Guinevere, while in truth the whole plan had been his idea. His second falling is his pride, which comes naturally as being the Crown Prince. Arthur's honor is of great importance to him and he will do anything to keep it untarnished. When he suspects that the knights may be letting him win the jousting tournaments, he goes to great lengths to disguise himself as a commoner so that he may participate without worry of special treatment. However, at the same time, his pride is what makes him continuously belittle Merlin or what makes him (unintentionally) treat Gwen like a servant in her own home. He is improving upon it, however, as time passes by and he understands more from the others around.
Arthur's relationship with the ones around him also has an effect on his personality. Around his father, he is usually more subservient and respectful as he wishes to impress him. The only time this changes is when Arthur's own moral beliefs conflict with the decision Uther has made or with what Uther is asking him to do. When he finds out the truth about his birth and his mother, he is furious, but eventually does reconcile with Uther as he is still his father. His bantering with Morgana often reveals his more stubborn streak as he does not like her getting the best of him. He does still care for her though, despite their arguments and treats her much like one would a sibling. It is because of his friendship with Merlin though, that many characteristics of Arthur shine - such as his loyalty or the unique way he cares. For example, he is able to joke around with Merlin because he trusts him. It is also because of that same trust that he can confide things in Merlin. Of course, he isn't the kindest to him either, but that's simply Arthur's way. He doesn't show his affection with sweetened words, but rather with good-natured teasing. When Merlin is saddened, Arthur is the one who tries to poke and prod him into talking.
All in all, Arthur has many sides to him - both public and private - and they come out through his actions. He is still learning and growing into a better person, but for now, he has his good points and bad and they come together to build the person that is Arthur Pendragon.
abilities:
Arthur's strength lies in his physical abilities. He is a skilled swordsman having been trained to fight from a rather young age and because of this, is able to act as the leader of the Knights of Camelot. His talents lie with many weapons such as the lance and mace, but his preferred method of fighting is with his sword. He is proficient enough with it to be able to fight several opponents at once and (usually) win. Barring that they aren't some sort of super natural being that can use other methods to gain the upper hand, of course.
However, just because Arthur relies on his physical strength, doesn't mean he's more brawn than brains. He's a good strategist when it comes to battle and knows how to use his opponents' weaknesses against them. He's also able to come up with more unofficial plans, such as plans of escape for the people he believes should be set free (such as the Druid boy, Mordred). It's also very likely that as he is the Crown Prince, he's received various sorts of education to make him more aware of his duties and what it takes to rule a Kingdom along with his training.
any plans for your character here?
He'll be there to be your dashing prince in armour™. Unless he's too busy fighting off the monsters, he'll probably be wandering about the Caravan trying to find a way home or a familiar face. Probably blame the whole thing on some inability of Merlin's too. Other than that I really have no set plans! 8)

-is this? Can anyone hear me? I can't believe I'm talking to a box.
If there's anyone out there who can hear me, I'd like to know where I am. This forest is unfamiliar and I've lost my horse. I'd appreciate directions to the nearest village.

And if anyone has seen a bumbling idi- boy. Young, dark hair, lanky and goes by the name of Merlin, tell him I'm looking for him.
