Canon: Detective Conan (also known as Deceptive Conan)

Point in Canon: After file 740

Age: 17

Appearance:

It's the darker skinned one with green eyes in the front, it's dang near impossible to get a picture of Hattori by himself, he's either lumped up with Kazuha or Kudo and by Kudo I mean both forms XD. He's a bit tall, kinda muscular but not too much. He's got a hat on his head or in his pocket most of the time, it's his on off switch and I don't mean in bed, ya pervs. It's his thinking cap, I'm pretty sure.

He's got a couple of scars, including one on his hand, but I doubt I need to go into that much detail for here. He's humanoid, okay? And as DC likes to point out: OMG HE'S NOT SNOW WHITE!!! He got it from his great grandfather guys, gee what a quirk.

Abilities: He's got the mind of an eagle. Smaller than his eye. So that's actually pretty big. Okay! No but seriously, he's a genius, Gosho (the mangaka) has estimated his I.Q. to be up there in the 400s, which I don't think is even POSSIBLE last time I checked (did not do his research). He's been solving cases since he was really little, so he's very very good at it, at some points even stepping above Shinichi in his thought process (see the Detective Koshien).

He also is pretty legit with his kendo-ing skills. He's ranked up there and stuff, has a rival, blah blah blah.

He is BEASTLY on a motorcycle. At one point he rides across on a collapsing wooden bridge, the kind on rope that show up in all the movies, and one rope is cut and so the boards are falling but that doesn't stop Hattori! He drives his freaking motorcycle across on a two inch (I'm not convertin to cm so suck it) rope and THEN! They cut THAT rope and he revs up and goes flying the last part of the way to the ground, just in time. It was BEASTLY.

Personality: Hattori's personality is often used as comic relief. He says and does the strangest things sometimes that the audience and others can't help but tilt their heads and wonder, "Is he really as smart as Shinichi?"

He's been described as hot-headed because he'll scale a 2 story building and look in through the window to make sure they're okay rather than running back inside, or  kick in a door even though it could destroy evidence in order to save the person inside, though that description doesn't really have the same connotation that most people would associate with "hot-headed," but that's what he's described as.

It can better be seen in his loud explosions over minor jabs at his character or person. He's shocked more than a few people with these kinds of outbursts, but it's not been seen to result in any violence, just...loudness.

Hattori is very good to the people he cares about, though he likes to poke fun at the ones closest to him as shown by the way he treats his family, Kazuha, and Conan. He probably will not get it if someone hits on him though.

He has a good sense of humor and is not the type to stew in his own feelings for long. Rather than getting angry and perhaps lashing out at those around him after being punched in the face by his own father, Hattori took it and turned it into motivation to be awesome. Followed by maniacal laughter, but okay. He has his quiet moments, but they're used for reflections and worries, not so much lamenting about situations and stewing in his own misery or something like that.

History: Hattori was born from an awesome couple, just like every awesome person in DC. His mother is basically a beast with NO FEAR and his father's a big head with the police so it's no wonder he turned out as awesome as he did. When he was very young he saw a beautiful girl his age who he is convinced was his soul mate (turns out the girl he saw was Kazuha though he doesn't know that *SHOCKER*). Continuing the romantic aspects of his history, Kazuha and him became very good friends when they were handcuffed together for a few days when they were kids. Since then Kazuha has been friends with him.

Hattori is like Conan in that he started doing cases when he was very young and became better and better at it the older he got. He's claimed more than 1,000 cases to his name, but this, he says, includes cases like lost dogs and cats. Hattori was first introduced to the story when he came to meet Kudo Shinichi only to find that Kudo Shinichi was not there. Within a few minutes of meeting Ran and Conan he was able to deduce that Kudo had been keeping an eye on Ran. He gave Conan some liquor for his cold, and shortly after basically issued a challenge to the other detective. Kudo ended up making an appearance later on, but eventually Hattori is able to confirm that Conan was Shinichi when Shinichi used Hattori as one of his deduction covers.

Since then Hattori has shown up multiple times, to the glee of readers, to save the day at last second and entertain us all with his curious antics.

First Person Sample:

[Feed is on, have a serious face from the dark skinned teen, but he looks strangely calm, looking away from the camera, then back]

"Soooo...This isn't my first rodeo, ya know? I'm guessin' all of ya are victims, though one of ya. One of ya could be the kidnapper, hiding in with tha others."

[He leans back and smiles]

"To the victims, don't worry. To the culprit, keep yer guard up. Hattori Heiji is here."

Third Person Sample:

He was warm and comfortable, not quite ready to get up. He'd stayed up late the night before rereading The Greek Coffin Mystery. But he couldn't stay in bed. Any moment now Kazuha could call and announce that they were going out for breakfast and to meet him at the place they always do. He yawned and stretched, opening his eyes blearily as the covers fell away.

He was immediately struck by a sense of vertigo. This room was not his. It was blatantly not his. It had baseball posters plastered around, a few motorcycles and chicks in swimsuits chasing away signs of bare wall. There was a large oak bookshelf that covered an entire wall and was stuffed with mystery novels and various reference books all in a row. It's not that the room was bad, but his real room was practically empty in comparison.

Standing, Hattori looked around, his eyes widened at a tiny picture of Kazuha that had been innocently placed on his bedside table. A communicator sat next to it. His eyes narrowed. This didn't look good.
