canon Personality: Yui is a bit of a moeblob that, from first appearances, can't really do much for herself. At first, it seems that she does not have much that she is good at, unless you count being cute enough to get her friends to do things for her as a somewhat impressive skill. It is hard not to want to take care of her, with her extremely naive and warm personality, she is a bit like a puppy. She does not always understand what is going on, and can be a bit of a crybaby when it comes down to it, but she is never one to stay down for too long.
She is also a bit lazy when it comes to a lot of things. While she still manages to get good grades in school, she is prone to sleeping or moving from thing to thing like a moth to lights. There is also something going on, and sometimes it is hard to really follow Yui's train of thought. Yui is a bit on the odd side. Her mind jumps from one thing to the other, and it's not always clear what brought her mind from point A to point B, or where it will go best. She has a very one-track mind, but that doesn't mean that that track doesn't have a lot of stops that don't quite make sense with the final destination.
Despite being lazy, Yui is freakishly good at anything that she puts her heart and soul into. She can learn how to play a guitar fast (and quite proficiently), can get a perfect score on a make up test when it means she can stay in the Light Music Club, and really could probably do just about anything if she puts her mind to it. It's almost frightening how much raw potential this girl has, but most of the time putting forth the time and effort is just a little too much for her. Yui would be much happier being lazy and doing the things that she wants to do, like playing Gitah.
All and all, Yui is a very happy and expressive person. She likes having fun more than anything else, and she likes to make sure that the people around her are having fun as well. Friends and family are so important to her. Trusting to the point of being overly so, it really is hard to stay mad at her, even if she has overlooked something important or forgotten something (something that happens quite a bit). She may be a bit of a ditz (okay, more than a bit...), but that doesn't mean that she won't go out of her way to make sure that the people around her are at ease and happy.

First Person Sample:
Uiiii~
[On the screen is a somewhat sad looking brunette, hair sticking up strangely and face half-buried in a mound of yellow fluff. She looks as if she is going to cry, the poor Mareep that she has up against her chest trying to squirm out of her grip to no avail.]
Why did you move the house to this weird place? Is it because I ate your leftover pudding? How am I supposed to get to school now? I'm sorry! Uiiii! It's not nice to play tricks on your older sister like this!
[She digs her face into Mareep's wool, making a sad, distressed noise.]
I'm going to miss out on that chocolate cake Mugi promised...
Third Person Sample: It was so warm under her covers that Yui did not want to move. Cocooning herself deeper into the fluffy embrace of sleep, she pulled her covers closer, letting out a coo of contentment. Ahh, this felt so good, she only wished that she could stay here, wrapped in her comforter forever.
"Yui, dear! Wake up, it's time for you to go!"
Hearing a voice from downstairs, Yui half opened her eyes, most of her face obscured by her pink comforter cocoon. What was that just now? Was someone calling out for her. Sitting in a hazy half-woken daze, contemplating closing her eyes again and having another round of sleep, a realization dawned upon her: it was awfully bright in her room, wasn't it? Opening her eyes a little more, brain still a little foggy, reality dawned upon her. It was morning! It was really late morning! "Ahhh!" She screamed, arms and legs suddenly very tangled in her blanket. Struggling free, she was launched face first into the hardwood floor. That did not stop her, arms and legs a flurry until she finally broke free from their warm prison.
Not taking a moment to even take in her surroundings, she grabbed what she thought was her uniform and quickly dressed, bouncing around the room as she struggled with various articles of clothing. Dressing on the fly was such a pain, but what could she do? Running down the stairs, socked feet pounding on the steps, she bolted for the dining room. "Ui, why didn't you wake me up? I'm going to be late!" She cried, making a grab for a piece of toast on the table. Lodging it in her mouth, she tripped over herself toward the door, quickly slipping her feet into her shoes and throwing her bag over her shoulder. "I'm off!"
The only thought that registered was to run. Run as if her very life depended upon it. Ohhh, Nodoka would give her such a hard time for being late! Mio would probably lecture her too! What a terrible morning! It took until there was a difference in her commute--a fork where there shouldn't have been one--before her mind went from early morning panic mode to assess the situation. It was a lot more rural than it used to be around her neighborhood. The sound of cars driving by was instead replaced with the sound of birds singing, and people waving hello.
Yui stopped. Something was not right. Something very big. This wasn't her neighbood. This wasn't her neighborhood at all. "EHHHHHHH?!"
