All right. Adstringendum is a world made up of other worlds and times. It was an experiment by a group of scientists, but they made a mistake, and now we're here. People come and go randomly, but we can't control it. Once you've arrived, you're here until the Animus send you back.

The Animus are "spirits" that rule this world, in a sense. We use that term loosely because we don't really know what they are.

[Hueco Mundo? Oh, of course, she must be from his future.]

The Animus control this place. Every now and then, they have "events" that affect us in various ways. Sometimes the effects are minimal and slightly frustrating, but other times they are more traumatic.
