It was kind of an interesting weekend. On friday night, I went to a downtown coffee shop because a guy I know was playing his guitar there with a few other guys from the academy. And my god, they were amazing. I mean, his playing was spot on, and the voice was awsome, which is strange because he doesn't have much of a speaking voice. I mean, I might actually pay to listen to that music, so the fact they were giving away free cds was a definite bonus. Maybe I just find it hard to imagine that real talent can find its way to the Academy and flourish. Anyways, I was really impressed. Then we went to a karaoke bar, but had to leave pretty early because we had to be back my midnight, because the powers that be don't trust our ability to self regulate enough to be back without a hangover for the parade (yawn) that we had to march in on saturday. Anyways, went out last night, drank a lot, bowled a lot, pretty terribly I should say. And now I owe my roommate a dd session. It is unbelievably hard to coordinate a simple night on the town. You've got to pry and cajole freshmen and sophomores into doing it for you. We actually managed to find one, but lo and behold, SOMEONE managed to forget to tell him when we were leaving, so my roommate took the bullet for the team and drove. In any case, it was still fun, though when we got back, Kyle took off ahead of us and we had to search around for a few minutes before finding him passed out in the mailroom. And then there was today. You know the part in office space where the guy says that he just wants to sit around all day doing nothing and watching Kung Fu? I lived it today. And it was glorious. I don't think I've spoken more than fifty words today. And while you might think it was boring, it was anything but. I played video games. I watched way too many episodes of Scrubs (season 4 is exceptional). I ate way too many chips. And drank way too much apple juice. On that note, is it possible to overdose on vitamins? In walmart on friday night, I got really excited and bought a 3 quart bottle of apple juice, since I absolutely love the stuff and haven't had any in months. Over the next day and a half I proceeded to drink the entire thing. Well, this happens to be vitamin c enriched apple juice, and looking at the bottle, I see that I've consumed 1560% of the recommended daily value in 1 1/2 days. I'm guessing it won't do too much this time, but there is a serious chance I will become a juice fiend, and end up drinking a few gallons per week. On my epitaph will be a long lament about the pleasures and penalties of the corrupting devil juice called...(dramatically)...apple.
