Reality
There are several depths to reality. The tactile, sensory material world that consciousness can perceive. The material world that is superimposed with ideas and concepts. A paper note becomes money when the currency gains acceptance by a collective consciousness. The deepest level of reality, is the silent witness to all these contents. The content of consciousness may be emotions, sensory inputs, experiences etc.
When we mistakenly identify ourselves as the content of our consciouness, we react to the content of our consciousness. By doing so, the sensory inputs and experiences weaves into a story line with a sense of "self". The process of this weaving becomes so convulated that our consciousness is split into the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. This is the result of conflicting storylines weaving simultaneously, and in order to achieve coherence, the denied storylines are pushed out of sight.
To transcend into liberation, instead of reacting to the contents, to the storylines. Simply allow them to be. Allow whatever form that rises to be. Then, there will be a gradual realization of the NOW. With that realization, one comes to be aware of the undercurrent of deep silence that is witnessing all these. This witness, is the flame of your illumination. When our sense of "self", is no longer derived from our content (our experiences, storylines, emotions, body-image etc). We no longer feel threatened, as our sense of self no longer comes into conflict with outside reality. It is immutable and indestructable.
As all forms are transient, all will be destroyed eventually and thus the deep undercurrent of insecurity for humans. Once we realize this sense of self is illusory, one need no longer look to the past/future for any self-fulfillment or actualization. Therefore, the sense of time will stop and remain in the perpetual NOW. All compulsive thoughts, delusions and fantasies ends, as the desire to be actualize is no longer necessary. Whatever action that needs to be taken, would have great power, for is done in response to NOW and not to any projected past or future.
