I've been marathoning Babylon 5 big style, and we're up to Season 4 now. Anyway, in episode 5, "The Long Night", the main ranger on the White Star that's sent to lure the Shadows... I knew I recognised him. Well...
1) His character name was Eriksen (I think actually spelled Ericson, but close enough!)
2) He was played by a VERY YOUNG Bryan Cranston (Hammond Druthers in HIMYM season 2)
You can't even make this stuff up! I love how many people guest star in Babylon 5. And yes, it still stands up. Londo vs G'Kar is still as awesome. And I made up my own drinking game:-
1 sip when:
Londo says "My dear, good friend"
Someone mentions the book of G'quon (and, latterly, the book of G'kar)
Someone mentions Valen
When Kosh says something cryptic
Ivanova has her hair down/sexy/casual
Marcus "kicks ass" (or is awesome, prepare to get drunk)
A shadow ship flies by and does that "mind scream" sound
There's a Lord of the Rings reference (you have to justify this)
Bester!
There's a homoerotic tension moment between Talia and Ivanova
2 sips when:
Mordon asks someone what they want (or is generally smug)
Someone says "Home world"
Delenn doesn't tell the whole truth (season 2 onwards only)
There's a time-slip/dilation
Ivanova mentions that she's Russian
You suspect that Dr Franklin is doing stims (prepare to argue)
Zathras!
Somebody says "Entil-zah"
Lenier "kicks ass"
Londo turns out to be the doing something good, despite seeming morally ambiguous
Drink your drink when:
When there's a reference to weird alien sex acts
There's a murder
Vir "kicks ass"
Anyway, I've now decided I need to rewatch 3rd Rock From the Sun. Retro sci-fi makes me all warm and wobbly inside. Why can't sci-fi these days be that good? I watched the pilot episode and spent the whole time sighing and having mad love for every single character. I'm drowning in nostalgia here!
