The next few days are going to be hell...

From tomorrow I'll be in London, studying and then taking a big, scary professional exam which I'm sure I'm going to fail. I've done all my pre-course reading but I don't understand half of it and the other half is so DRY! I have to memorise the theory as it's a closed-book exam. The questions are stupidly like "what's the odd one out on this list of stuff" and all you need to do is memorise the lists, not actually understand anything. My brain doesn't work that way.  Anyway, I'll be living in a hotel for three nights, hopefully with broadband Wifi (if not, I shall cry). So I may not be around online much. Sadness! I've had a great writing streak this last two weeks and I just know this exam business is going to screw it up. Grrr.

So, to celebrate my last night at home, I watched House. What is it with writers insisting on hitting the reset button on characters right now? So Wilson's been completely reset (which really annoys me - it's as if nothing has happened!) They wimped House out of knocking on Cuddy's door - wouldn't it have been so much more fun to see him try and struggle with a relationship with her? They've done the same to Barney out of HIMYM in the last two episodes. It's annoyed me because although I'm secretly hoping that they are actually exaggerating Barney because he's over-compensating and eventually he's going to have a super breakdown... Nah, it won't happen. Because you don't do that with your most popular (and bankable) character, do you? He's the face of HIMYM - the clown, the one with all the jokes. *sigh* It's irritating that they won't let him grow though.

Speaking of HIMYM - UK TV are now showing Big Bang Theory season 2 which still not showing any HIMYM beyond season 2. My Hubby suggested this was because Big Bang is "funnier". There was almost a citizens divorce, let me tell you! At least we had Harry Hill (best thing on TV) to watch tonight to break the tension!

Still, next week I'll have Charlie Brooker Screen Wipe and the IT Crowd (a kind of UK version of Big Bang Theory) to look forward to when I return. There's also that new John Simm historical thing with "whore" in the title, which Sky + (tivo) amusingly censors. (I crush so hard on John! But he has a minging beard in it).
