"Marshall!" Robin screamed, wrapping her bathrobe tightly around her body. "Jesus! What're you doing here?"
He stood in the middle of the living room sheepishly clutching a magazine to his chest.
"No!" Robin shook her head violently. "NO! Come on, we're past that, surely."
Marshall looked flustered for a moment but, good lawyer that he was, he shot back at her with a counter strike. "Hey, I was just passing! What're you doing in bed at this time of day anyways? This isn't your usual routine."
Robin shot him a look, her knuckles whitening on the edges of her robe.
"So what's up?" Marshall asked her suspiciously. "Hey!" He began to chuckle. "You and Ted not hooking up again, right?"
Robin laughed along with him. "Yeah, right. Hooking up with friends never works."
Suddenly, Marshall lunged past her, pushing her bedroom door wide open. Robin shrieked. "MARSHALL! What the HELL!"
The room was empty. Just her unmade bed and the wardrobe door open showing a tumble of clothing. "Wow, you are really messy!" Marshall commented, shaking his head.
"Shut up!" She threw a cushion at him. "And get out. Go read a magazine at work like normal people."
Marshall frowned and sulkily retreated out of the apartment.
When he'd gone, Robin sagged with relief, leaning against the door. "It's okay, he's gone. You can come out?" She crept into the bedroom, looking around. There was literally nowhere Barney could hide. Where in the hell was he?
A creaking noise caught her attention and she whirled around to see Barney climbing in through the open window, rivulets of sweat running down his face.
Robin gave him a questioning look.
"I knew those no-rope climbing lessons would come in handy..." He muttered, collapsing onto her bed.
"Should I even ask?" She said, lips quirking with amusement.
"C'mon, it could have been worse," he countered, rolling onto his back and pulling her down on top of him.
She giggles as he slid his hands under her robe. "Yeah, you could have been forced into drag again, Mrs Stinsfire."
"Still can't believe Ted bought that," Barney grinned, his lips tracing the curve of her throat. "Although those silk panties were quite the turn-on..."
Robin smirked. "Totally," she said, but any further words were lost in a flurry of kisses.
Shame she couldn't thank Marshall for that surprise interruption later. But hey, it was better than none of them ever knew. Besides, it looked like Marshall wasn't the only one who was going to surprise her that day.
