happy summer!!!

it's summertime, and that means more posts at idiotbrigade!
I'm working on stuff for animenext, but since fan art is kind of hard to draw, here's a lineup of my characters for the thing I'm gonna (hopefully) be working on this summer


here's a little bit about them! If you've read my thesis or some of the comics I've posted before, you'll recognize them.
from left to right:

• Jethro: A well meaning sort-of-hipster. is hugely in love with Britney. Which is probably a bad idea. Has been friends with Jamal since middle school, and Jamal probably the only reason Jethro has that job holding a boom mic, given how bad he is as it. 
• Britney: Last seen holding up a NY deli, Britney is now in jail, but seems to have having the time of her life. 
• Jamal: Our hero, much to his suprise, Jamal is a pretty laid back guy except when it comes to his friends getting in trouble.  Jamal is currently a cameraman and studying something like Chinese or Russian literature part time.
• Valerie: intensely driven news reporter and boss of Jamal and Jethro (sort of), she really, really wants to have a big story, and has somehow gotten herself pigeonholed as a specialist in paranormal or weird news stories. She isn't too happy about this, but also wants success.
• Violet: a somewhat loopy classmate of Jamal's (?) who has a wide knowledge of cryptozoology. Her insight into weird animals might help the news team find their next story. Sometimes babysits Lyle, who is her neighbor.
• Lyle: kid who wants to be a superhero, who claims to have seen the Jersey Devil(?), and begins the news teams' current quest

I think Melvin might make an appearance again sometime, but probably not in this story...probably?(if anyone cares: Jamal and Jethro were previously in that werewolf story and my thesis, Britney and Valerie were both in my thesis, Violet was in the Catacorn comic and The Golden Pigeon story (oh man this is old... :/ ), and Lyle was in the catacorn story and his own comic)

I cannot tell you how many times I get Valerie's name wrong and call her Vivian. it's cus I like both names! Also I removed Jamal's baseball cap...do you know how hard that is to draw all the time?!

sooo, that's that! I'm actually preoccupied with other stuff, but I want to get this going soon! I also need to get my website really going in some capacity...time to try to understand HTML and CSS more!
I can't wait to see everyone post more stuff :D
