My Day in Great Detail (Part 3)

Sep 27, 2013 18:37

Got home from the food pantry at about 6 pm. Very exhausted from standing in line for several hours in the sun and heat, with no access to a bathroom. Would do it again in a heartbeat. We need to eat.

The bananas were over-ripe, so I cut them up, put them in Ziploc baggies, & froze them. More smoothie supplies. It's hard to have fresh fruits and vegetables when super poor. Frozen is the next best thing.

If I've learned anything from being poor, it's that you can freeze almost anything. Keeping bread in the freezer is probably the one thing people find most odd. I can't afford to throw anything out. Scraps go to dogs.

Tomorrow I'll do something with the fresh tomatoes.

They also gave us a Little Caesar's pizza. I get so excited when we get one because that means I don't have to rush to cook when I get home. So, my son got the only apple and some pizza for dinner.

Now, I think L and I should cuddle and watch a movie. He needs to wind down before bed.

I'm hungry, but I can't eat anymore. I'm 15 lbs overweight, which wouldn't bother me except for my heart problems. I already over-ate my allotted calories for the day. Hunger beats death.
