This is something I started writing last night.
Tate is supposed to be me in doll form, with lots of differences, but still. I've been musing at the idea of her working in a watchmaker, I thought it'd be cute, especially since Hayden is Time and all that.
The start of this pretty much mimica a day at work for me, only I wouldn't cheat a busy man and I'm a lot nicer than her, lol.
Anyway, features a Tate and Hayden, named Tayden by the unmentionable Brendon. Yeeeeaaaah.
Aaaaannnd, for those who have no idea what the Ana things is, it's Hayden's real name, which only Tate calls him by.

Tate could barely managed to greet the customer before shoving a job sheet in their face. She couldn’t even muse as they giggled at her name tag, probably thinking of some old british man they knew back in university. She was past that today, well beyond simple excitements. She’d have to make it through the day on glancing at the clock every four seconds.
She wasn’t bored though, not sick or tired. It was excitement that kept her mind on the time, quite literally.
He was coming to pick her up today. She hadn’t even asked, and Ana was coming - driving all the way into the city on his day off. He wouldn’t be playing games for the whole twenty-three-or-so minutes it would take for them to reach the palace.
That was about twenty minutes she could spend with him. She let three aside, goodness knows he still hadn’t finished his new game and wanted to speed home. But they’d still talk. There was no way she was letting him get out of it this time.
“I’d like a new battery. It’s loosing time, so I assume that’s what it is.”
She blinked at the man, flopping the notepad infront of his hands, which toyed with a small, worn omega. Tate scrawled across the bottom, noting the condition of the watch.
“uh, the face isn’t scratched.”
Tate nodded, “It is, if you have a look at it from my angle.”
She was totally right, and relished when the man decided not to press the matter.
“I’ll get you to pay when you pick it up, it should be ready in about fifteen minutes.”
“I’ll pick it up tomorrow, I’m a very busy man.”
Of course you are, you own an omega automatic and you’re putting it in for a battery. A busy, important man. Tate glared at the watch, before smiling at the words written on the face. Automatic, haha. She tossed it into a bag after giving it a good wind and checking the movement. She scribbled her name at the top and threw it into the done box. She made sure to write a glorious $9.95 on the bottom. The price a busy man would pay for stupidity.
It was 4:01, and Tate was supposed to have finished exactly one minute ago. She knew this because there was a giant clock in the mall, right above the watchmaker kiosk. Not only that, but she was surrounded by watches, which told her it was indeed now 4:02.
“What’s the time?” She heard from the counter.
She looked up. He had the most beautiful bright green eyes. She didn't care that he was leaning on the recently cleaned glass counter, or that he'd asked the stupidest question in the world. He had the most beautiful eyes.
“Ana!” She shrieked, making her co-worker jump, “I’ll just finish this repair and we can go?”
“Sure.” He nodded.
It was barely worth asking Mary for the key, especially when Tate had discovered she could step over the door if she got up onto the bench. She delighted in the other workers noting her discovery and doing the same.
She bounced up to Hayden, swinging her arms. He looked so cute, his hair tied messily behind his back. The front part hung around his face, framing it softly. He was so beautiful, he always had been - and Tate had always known.
“Tough day? Wanna get some icecream?”
Tate’s face contorted into a shocked smile, “Yes! Eeeee, I do! I mean, my day wasn’t that bad, but I really want to have some icecream with you.”
Hayden put a gentle hand around hers, “Just as long as you eat it all this time - my back seat still smells like white chocolate gelato.”
The last time Ana bought her icecream was on the 7th of July. That was almost six months ago, and it was only because he was buying some for the twins, too. Tate couldn’t believe her luck. Her boyfriend was picking her up and buying her icecream - on the same day!
“Don’t you… have like… a game to finish?”
Hayden nodded, “Yeah, but it can wait.”
Tate had to force herself into staying put. Inside, she was ready to jump around like a maniac.
They sat in the car, Hayden’s favourite band gently buzzed through the speakers, and a cool breeze kissed Tate’s flushed cheeks.
“Thankyou so much for picking me up, Ana, I really- “
Hayden put his hand on hers, “Tate.” He started, “I’m really sorry. For not paying attention to you. When you smile at me like that, it makes me feel so happy, but so guilty. I’m just… really, really sorry. And I’m gonna work on it.”
