Pick the stuff up off the couch.

This is the most confusing newspaper cover ever. I mean, really, "COPS SAVE TEEN, BUT PAL DIES" and then a picture of Spiderman on the phone? So funny... Or at least we thought so last night... I also love the little blue headline that says "Are you EMO?". I actually got around to reading the article -- it was quite amusing. But anyway, the Toronto Sun (as most of you should know) has a good history of ridiculous front covers. They were the ones who were told to stop publishing their "Sunshine Girls" on the front covers. Oh, and of course on September 12th, 2001, they also printed a big yellow headline that read "BASTARDS!" over top of a picture of the Twin Towers getting hit by the planes.

Too bad, though, it seems they forgot to mention that Steve Irwin (better known as the Crocodile Hunter) is dead. What you say? A sting ray stabbed you through the heart?? Crikey! What a way to go. Seriously though, I watched that show of his a fair amount back in my day so it is kinda sad maybe... Yes, yes, he was an idiot but generally provided a good amount of laughing, even if it was of the ridicule-sort.

Anyway, put your lighters in the air because The Roots are comin' atchya once again. Ahem. (Sorry, that was lame.) But yeah, the boys' new album Game Theory is out and it's fucking off the hook. Their last effort, The Tipping Point, is what I consider to be a "fun" album to listen to but not much more. It's got a lot of great stuff on it but also a lot of filler. This new album, on the other hand, flows together like a big, ominous political concept record, almost to the effect of something like Spearhead. The results are stunning. The production, the experimentation, the Radiohead samples, etc. I'll be damned, this could be THE record of the year, it's so impressive.
