Subtle, cool, and refreshing.

That's what tonight was for me. Hopefully for the audience as well, though judging by the awesome feedback I got, I'm pretty confident it was successful. Basically, I played solo piano (with some vocals) for about 35 minutes tonight in my first piano show. I was fairly nervous considering most of the songs I just finished up writing on the half-decent keyboard my aunt has and I barely knew anyone there...

However, over the course of the show, it just kind of all flowed perfectly and the songs sounded much more pleasing to my ears when played on the grand piano. Awesome time. Now, I have a full band show in a nearby town on the 13th with people I just met and jammed with this past weekend. Things are definitely at an interesting and stunning place.

My setlist was this:

01. Pianogrotto
02. Kid You Not
03. Hawaii [Theme from Dark Side Of The World]
04. Wit & Wisdom
05. Recall (Samson)
06. Atlantic Theme
07. Shampoo Suicide [Broken Social Scene cover]

So fun. After this upcoming full band show and B.C. altogether, I think I might do another acoustic show in Toronto. My confidence has definitely been boosted a lot more and my songwriting, much like last summer, is at an all-time high for me.

Oh, and I'm going to be back at 9 am on August 23rd. I can't wait to see everybody!!!

Hey, call me an agnostic
'Cause I was just told about Samson
He who lost his strength
When they cut his hair all off

Yes, he lost all his strength
Like my will to write poems
But it's Friday the thirteenth
And, well, I'm ready to go home
