Happenings and oncomings.

All-nighter almost killed me today. I woke up at Pape Station on the bus back home from Mr. Shaw (a teacher I've never even had) poking me in the shoulder. Awkwarddddd. And of course, that's only after school. Delerious during my History presentation, cockiness during my meeting with Ms. Forrest (who I schooled once again).
I was somewhat productive though. That artwork today was sort of crappily done but it was a little depressing hearing people's generally negative opinions about it since there's been a lot of work and meaning been put into it otherwise and leading up 'til now/last night. Ah well. In my "productivity", I also at some point put together a list of my dream band. The penultimate band!!!

Songwriters: Ani Difranco, Leonard Cohen

Vocals: Chan Marshall (aka Cat Power -- best/sexiest voice ever)

Electronics: Jonny Greenwood (from Radiohead -- he's the main man who makes trippy Radiohead songs trippy)

Drums: Terry Bozzio (insane drummer who's worked with Frank Zappa, Blondie and many others)

Guitar #1: Andrew Whiteman (his style and pure skill is unmatched)

Guitar #2: José González (because he is a unique master of melodies)

Bass: Leonard Hubbard (bassist from The Roots -- you'd understand if you saw that bass solo live like I did)

Orchestra: Owen Pallett (aka Final Fantasy), Sufjan Stevens & his band (nothing beats that crazy instrumentation he directs for his albums)

Piano: Thom Yorke (of Radiohead -- I was reluctant to put two of their members in but I couldn't resist)

Producers: Sandro Perri (aka Polmo Polpo and also of Glissandro 70, etc... A true guru of sound)

Speaking of Sufjan Stevens, here are some songs you probably haven't heard. "The Avalanche" in particular is a newly released bonus/final track to Illinois which is worth having in your collection. The Kanye mash-up (the second in, what, two days?) is okkk... A little messy in areas but well done otherwise. "Borderline" is classic, folky Sufjan but beautiful nonetheless. The other songs are some interesting rarities I found.
I love Thursfridays.
