Yes. Ah well, at least the weather is absolutely excellent. Wednesday off, err'ybudy -- anybody as psyched for that as I am? I think so. Mm mm. What else am I psyched for? This summer! As I mentioned a while back, my friend Paddy Ryan in Vancouver has his own decked-out recording studio which I plan on taking full advantage of every chance I get. The plan is, in fact, to record my first real album, which is exciting, to say the very least. I've got about an album worth of songs written on the guitar alone that I've made since this past summer at the cottage and I'm really looking forward to finally really getting my own ideas down and letting them grow into something that I hope will be self-fulfilling, no matter what the outcome. I think I might try and record a lo-fi EP before then at Sean's or something to give you a guys a taste of what I've been up to with that business. You see, as nervous and shy as I am to show it to anybody, I'm also sort of anxious to get it out there and have at least one person nodding their head or whatever.
Anyway. Enough of that. I was talking to Click about it for awhile today and wrote a whole new song in one afternoon/evening yesterday so it's sort of in my brain. In the meantime, I decided to round up some cool mp3's I've found lying around all relating to those ca-razy Arts & Crafts artists and thought I'd show 'em to you guys. In case you did not know, Amy Millan of the Stars is releasing a solo album from A&C very soon so for those who care (I don't really, to be honest), there ya go. I've also got a song from The Most Serene Republic's new tour-only EP which is absolutely amazing -- a true launch from the mediocre work on their debut album released last year. Oh, and featured here is the mash-up Dave Newfeld did of BSS's "Stars & Sons" and "Lover's Spit". Distorted, crazy, stumbling, awkward, AWESOME. I really do like it.
