LAYER ONE : THE OUTSIDE
- Name: Bethany
- Eye Color: blue
- Hair Style/Color: My hair is red, it grows waist-length, and curls. I just try to let it do it's thing without too much harrassment. It seriously needs a trim, though.
- Height: 5'4”. I think I'm taller, I talk shorter.
- Clothing style: Take Tony Stark's at-home style, add a dash of button-up shirts and boyfriend shorts a'la Pepper and you have my non-dressed up version. But I like a little bit of everything. Skater-boy sneakers. Ties. Hippie hats.
- Best physical feature: I think my eyes are pretty. Technically, I have a pretty good figure, but I'm not into it right now.
LAYER TWO: THE INSIDE
- Your fears: No one will ever read my books in my lifetime.
- Your guilty pleasure: shojo romance manga. THERE IS LIKE NO EARTHLY MERIT TO 89% but I still read it when I'm down, or have that malaise...
- Ambitions for the future: Still working on the big one: write books that people want to read.
LAYER THREE: THOUGHTS
- Your first thoughts waking up: Okay, Morning Pages to do, and then... (I don't wanna socialize, but am ready to get to work, usually.)
- What you think about most: story scenarios. What I'd preform if I was on an audition show (and then, “than the fates I'm not, though, I have to never do that”). “Oh crap, and I still haven't done...”
- What you think about before bed: How to get characters together. How to fix plot-holes. Drama scenes that were particularly good. “I need to wind down, like NOW”
- You think your best quality is: I am pretty good at synthesizing ideas together into insights. At choreographing words into a mood. I also have a pretty good problem-solver gene from my engineer dad that sometimes feels like an alien symbiont.
LAYER FOUR: WHAT’S BETTER?
- Single or group dates: TBD
- To be loved or respected: Can someone love you without respecting you? This plays dangerously with semantics, and I prefer to not compartmentalize
-Beauty or brains: Again, is beauty and brain so very separable? Some people's minds have turned their expressions ugly, others glow with something that has nothing to do with their physical appearance. I knew a beautiful kid who viciously punched another guy, and after that I couldn't see him without feeling that punch.
- Dogs or cats: I intellectually assent to the superiority of dogs as companions. But. I like cats, who don't need constant affirmation, and are a bit harder to get to show their love. I just do.
LAYER FIVE: DO YOU?
- Lie: I find it difficult even when necessary. I try to frame things diplomatically instead...
- Believe in yourself: The most important thing to me is writing, and I fundamentally believe in myself, though I have panicky moments of losing faith. Everything else I am working to not be deep in the negative...
- Believe in love: Especially the hard-work kinds.
- Want someone: uh. Not personally? At the moment?
LAYER SIX: EVER?
- Been on stage: Yes. Regularly, most of my life, until the last couple of years.
- Done drugs: No. Sleep deprivation and caffeine have brought on some real whack moments, though.
- Changed who you were to fit in: In a lot of ways. I still do, if you mean, outer conformity-that's not a big deal. But I'm getting more sure of my own “color” and am learning how to keep it no matter where I am.
LAYER SEVEN: FAVORITES
- Favorite color: This is a wicked question to ask. It used to be blue-I think that's still a color I am attracted to on a primal level.
- Favorite animal: It's become turtles, lately. So tiny and yet seeming so ancient!
- Favorite movie: Ugh-lately, the newest Jane Eyre really unexpectedly lodged itself in my heart.
- Favorite game: I would love to play more of the Lego games. So cute! And yet driving of the cars, and figuring out of the puzzles!
LAYER EIGHT: AGE
- Day your next birthday will be: Sunday, so Mother's Day! That happens every 7 years or so.
- How old will you be: 27
LAYER NINE: IN A BOY OR GIRL
- Best personality: A way with words to make me laugh-an openness to learning, and an intelligence to put new thoughts together.
- Best eye color: I do really like dark eyes. (Weep for the redhead gene, ye unbelievers!)
- Best hair color: I think I'm more about the whole package, and color can be anything. Though really, Norman, blonde does not speak to me. Irish/Scandanavian blondes do, though! ...I overthink all the things.
- Best thing to do with a partner: TBA? But with people I like/love I always want to talk about ideas, go ramble around interesting places, then spend some time just working on stuff with them in the same building. :D
LAYER TEN: FINISH THE SENTENCE
- I love: Korean rap
- I feel: so ready for life to start
- I hide: my anger. My sweets.
- I miss: so many things-Yonezawa, japan. Pasadena, the friends I had there.
- I wish: I could continue on and still revisit old loves. That my books paid the way for me to travel. That I wasn't still writing this at 22 past 10.
