Ooh, Flower Boy Ramyun Shop just ended with on a punchy note...
if my eyes serve me right, the hero's last lines were a bit of a fake-out, and he seems to have an anger behind his own cavalier attitude toward romance, toward feelings.
And that is INTERESTING.
I'd usually doubt the actor's intent, usually, especially in such a *pretty* one, but I've read praise for his ability to portray intensity, etc.
I know, I know, it doesn't really look like it. But true!
The first episode felt a little rough, but I think he's in character in a more natural way now.
And watching him throw tantrums as a spoiled brat who has no reason to think a 3-year-old's melt-down won't get him what he wants is just fine television.
I expect this to be comical and light for a while more and then go into hyperdrive of backstory issues and triangle anguish and forbidden love. I'm going to keep with it and see if it plays out as grippingly as Hello My Teacher. Jung Il Woo is no Gong Yoo, but that's okay: I want to see Gong Yoo do something else, and see a different play-out of the story with an updated sensibility...
