Wow, has it really been that long?
So about 9-10 years or so ago, I was goofing off online on a Yahoo!group. Yeah, we all remember those days, right? Anyway.
I was goofing off, reading the fic that came through the list, trying my hand at some of my own, joining in on all the discussions and what not, and I came across this pretty cool chick. She was an amazing writer, had a wicked sense of humor, and didn't take life (or herself) too seriously.
The best part was that she seemed to think I was pretty cool, too. (Now, granted, she might not, but she's faked it this long, so I'm not going to complain. *g*)
We got to talking randomly. Then we started writing a fic together about, of all things, vampires. Which she doesn't particularly care for, but there you have it.
There were two moves to L.A. - hers, then mine - and a whole new group of people came into my life because of her. There were more fics (non-vampire, thank you, we moved on to cupcake gangsters *g*), tons of fun, a few fights, and everything that comes from living together and being friends.
And to think it all started with a shiny gold ring and nine guys named Ian, Orlando, Viggo, Bean, Elijah, Astin, Dom, Billy, and John.
Those guys will never know how thankful I am that they decided to do this little film in a tiny country halfway around the world. They will never know that, because of them, I came to know a smart, sassy, fiercely loyal friend who has become so much more than that over the years. They won't know, but I like to think they'd approve (even if the fics might raise more than a few eyebrows).
Knowing azewewish has been an adventure, and I'm glad I had the chance to take part in it all. Here's to many, many more.
Happy birthday, Brenda. Know that I will never be able to put my thoughts or feelings for our relationship into words, because it means so much to me. Just know that, no matter where you go or what happens, I'll always be there to listen or laugh or go WTF?!? It's my privilege to call you friend. :)
