This is not who you are

I had a whole bunch of things I wanted to say, but I'm going to settle for the following...

When you invest everything you are/feel/think into one person, you're going to be disappointed. It doesn't matter who that person is. They're never going to live up to the pedastal that you've placed them on by allowing them to, basically, control your life.

When that person is a celebrity? It's far, far worse. Celebrities are people just like you and me and they WILL disappoint you (unless they're George Clooney, but azewewish was there for that, and I'm STILL a bit glassy-eyed...of Jake Gyllenhaal, and that was so much fail on my part that I'm not even going to speak of it, but I digress). They will have bad days where they can't or won't be bothered. They will have days where they are assholes. There will be times when they're distracted and don't focus on just one person or thing. And yes, you will meet them and you will be devastated because they're not who you thought and they don't treat you like you were expecting.

You will take them down from that pedastal. You will start to dislike them. Often, you will even start to hate them.

But you know what? You're STILL letting them control your life.

Who they are, how they think, what they do...that is not you. How they look at you, talk to you, think of you, is not you. That's on them.

I'm not saying don't look up to them or admire them or whatever. Feel free. God knows that I love the hell out of certain actors, but there are more than a few that I hope I don't EVER meet. However, don't let them be the center of the world for you, even for just one hour.

And always, ALWAYS remember that celebrities are just regular people who happened to be in the right place at the right time, and really...they don't owe you (or me) a thing.

Peace out.

And if you're curious about the Clooney story, ask me. If you're curious about the Jake Gyllenhaal "Rendition" press junket story, ask azewewish, because I failed at that one miserably.

lessons for life, my opinion let me show you it
