(no subject)
i went to Okanogan today with my dad and corey.
we watched most of Donnie Darko on the way... it's pretty demented thus far, but I have yet to finish watching the rest of it to give it an opinion.
we arrived at the Okanogan high school around 10:30 a.m.
we were early.
the building was a sad thing to look at.
at first I thought it was a dirty elementary school... but the sign on the grey brick wall assured me that it was, indeed, the high shcool.
the doors were locked, so we pulled up to a gas station for bathroom use and i changed into my outfit.
we went back to the high school small parking lot and waited, and in the car corey and I tried to warm our voices up and practice our songs.
of course, we were at the wrong place. A guy pulled up with three little kids and told us it was at the grange just around the corner.
i think that we did good... considering we were basically thrown onto the stage once the minute we walked through the door and gave them our CDs!
corey was good, but i think i was just okay... i could have done better.
but i couldn't help feeling intimidated even though everyone is so nice.
i felt like i didn't belong, i was like a city girl trying to seem passable in the midts of an all country town.
...i can't believe i went out of tune.
and not just once, but a handful of times.
i could beat my head against a wall for eternity.
sigh. not feeling well. need to rest. my head's up in swamp land and thick fog.
hope i make it to the second round. i'll find out if i got in at all probably tomorrow night... it doesn't look like they'll be calling tonight.
i don't like failure.
am i too hard on myself?
i always am.
i can't help it.
perfection is what i strive for in music, i can't settle for anything less then the best if it can be reached...
i'm very criticle of myself in my passions... it's tiring!
did i learn this while growing up, or was it already there and i only refined it over the years.
hmm. hard to say.
i believe it's the second option though.
i feel that i have a fever. it's very hot.
