Alright! So I'm doing this cute little poem by Edward Lear for my interactive storybook. It is about an owl and a cat who fall in love and are married! AWW.
I am taking a slightly unconventional twist on this and swapping the genders of the characters! In 90% of the illustrated versions I've seen, the cat is always the girl? HMM! That's not how I read it at all -- in fact, the genders are not mentioned anywhere? [Except maybe when the owl calling the puss "beautiful" slkjflff BUT MEN CAN BE BEAUTIFUL.]
I'm not exactly sure how I will style this ... since I will most likely be completing the artwork in illustrator, I'm mostly thinking of fun, simple designs you might see on a felt board? We'll see how it shapes up! --
