So, ummm, yeah, it's been quite a long time

It occurred to me that it's been waaaay long since I posted in this journal. Life has been moving at a frightening pace and I looked up and it's been over a year since I updated this thing.

Well, as of April 2, 2008, a LOT has changed.

Our family has grown again. About three and a half months after Maggie was born, I found myself pregnant again. I had begun charting my fertility and one particular night when things got *ahem* amourous, I realised that it wasn't the best day for us to be ROMPing, so I told Eric this. We mutually decided that if we conceived we'd be okay with that and that we'd let God decide whether or not we were to have another child just yet. Well, with conditions being optimal, we conceived another little girl. She was due on Maggie's first birthday but decided she wanted a birthday of her own and arrived 3 weeks and 3 days early on November 26, 2007.

Annie Ruth Elizabeth came screaming into the world weighing 8 lbs, 4.8 oz and standing a respectable 20" tall. She had some issues with jaundice in the beginning and had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days after I was discharged, but after that she came home to stay. Now, at 4 months old, she weighs 15 lbs, 1 oz and is 24.75" long -- in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. She has dark hair (came out with a head full) and looks like a little Valerie clone. I think her eyes are going to wind up being a slate gray/blue like mine too.

Maggie (Mary Margaret) is now 15 months old. She's walking everywhere, getting into everything, starting to assert her independence (read: throwing fits), babbles and talks and sings all day long, and is generally growing into the sweetest little girl. Her eyes turned a pretty bright blue like her Grampie and her hair is a soft honey brown that curls up around the back and sides of her head.

As for me, since having both girls, I've lost about 40 pounds and overall, I'm doing pretty good. There are days when I want to pull my hair out or bang my head against the wall, but thankfully, there are fewer of those kinds of days. Both girls are sleeping through the night, so I'm finally getting more rest, but I still love the weekends because that's when Eric takes over baby duty and I get some serious (read: not being woken at 5 or 6 am) sleep.

Here's a picture of my two little sweethearts:

Here's one of Maggie looking all cute at the camera. It's kind of a perspective shot.

Here's one of Annie grinning up a storm.
