New icon! New fic! Same old hangups!
Well, it was inevitable, wasn't it.
I'm only surprised it's taken me this long! Since I already had one 'chalk hill-figure' icon, from the very cool Uffington White Horse (which may or may not be a horse, but which is definitely prehistoric and stunningly beautiful), I've just added another to my collection, from the equally cool Cerne Abbas Giant (which may or may not be prehistoric, but which is definitely a giant and stunningly well-endowed). I'm looking forward to finding some, erm, appropriately themed posts on which I can use it!
I am feeling in equal measure pleased and frustrated with myself tonight, having finally managed to complete Part 2 of a two-part Arthur-and-Kai story that I've been struggling with for ages. Part 1 came together relatively quickly, a minor matter of plugging a few gaps at the end of the canon... oh, yes, and rescuing the hero from falling off a cliff. And a bit of hugging. Part 2, however, required them to have a chat (easy), a bath (easy), and sex (long silence). I wrote two words, ran away and wrote four chapters of Boosh silliness, wrote two more words, ran away to do the washing up... you get the picture.
Eventually, thanks to some fabulous beta effort, it got to the stage where there was just one gap left, no prizes for guessing where... yup, the part where there was a note saying '[mind-blowing orgasm goes here]'. Now, I have written I don't know exactly how much smut over the past not-quite-two-years-yet, and I no longer have a problem with writing about cocks OR balls, so why do my instincts still tell me to run away just when I get to the most interesting bit of the story, the moment it's all been aiming for as it were?
Anyway it all came out in the wash, so to speak, so now I have no excuse for not going back to another story that has been neglected for even longer...
Meanwhile the four chapters of Boosh procrastination are here: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. There will be more. The darn thing is spawning plot bunnies faster than I can keep up with them...
