SHAKIRA! SHAKIRA!
so after i got out of school i came home and got ready and went to the AAA for round 2 of concert mania. when i got there at around 6:45 ish i went straight inside since they started letting ppl in. i went straight to my seat after almost scrapping with one of the ushers because he thought i sat higher, HA! my seats were pretty good and pretty close. i started walking around and wandering to see if i would see any familiar faces. i found the security lady from the madonna concert and we chatted for abit, shes super cool.
eventually after wandering, and walking around the entire arena once, i went back to my seat and made friends with the guy next to me and we really hit it off, he was way cool. then i made friends with the chick next to me and we hit it off too. the people in front of me were not too sympathetic toward my friend making cause, o well. at around 8, wyclef came out for the opening act. it was super fun, he made the arena like a club before shakira came out, he played regaetton and called out all the countries with screaming ppl to follow each name. colombia was the loudest ofcourse <3.
after wyclef they got set up for shakira to come out.
and then after what seemed like forever, the lights went off. her silhouette appeared and then she appeared singing "estoy aqui" and the place went nuts. she was dressed super cute and smiling her beautiful smile. she did the first few set of songs which also included "te dejo madrid", "dont bother", "hey you", and before she sang "antologia" she stopped to say how she wrote the song "quando tenia 17 años bajo de un cielo lleno de estrellas que no e visto en mucho tiempo. es mas, la primera vez que me enamore tenia 4 años. that's right. you know the first time i fell in love i was 4. his name was jose...he was 5. my parents did not approve of him. but we're not here to discuss my kindergarten romances, we're here to sing..." LMAO she was super cute.
after that the show went on and she asked how many colombians were there and the place went wild. and then she did "inevitable" and i fucking died and started crying.
she also did "si te vas" and jammed on the guitar for both of these, it was great cuz they were all the same exact shit as the ones from tour of the mongoose so i knew all the cues for everything. she also did "obtener un si" and then did "no" with a beautiful dress and flowy fabris and she danced around like a butterfly and disappeared into the fabric, super pretty.
then she did whenever wherever with a rope and then belly danced and it was cool.
eventually after songs like "ciega sordomuda" she got to "ojos asi" which was the shit. she started off dancing with vails to some arabian music and then began the song. loved it.
at one point she stopped to introduce her whole band and then she sang "la pared" with just piano. it was o fucking amazing. everyone sat but i stayed standing and singing at one pint i even think she looked at me because i was the only one standing. some asshole security gaurd came up to the guy next to me and told him to sit like everyone else and then told me to sit because the ppl behind me cant see and i was like "i am NOT sitting down. how dare u tell me to sit in concert, if they wanna see, they can get up." and he was like "sorry, ur right". i didnt sit once during the concert. so eventually it got to hips dont lie and it was great with wyclef and then it was over.
super fun, bought a shirt and a keychain. i love shaki soooooo much, i wish i could go see her in december again. also, theres NOTHING compared to madonna concert, the excitement, the ppl, everything, even still shakira is the next best thing, and i love her to fucking death.
