Recommend a video rental.

draining_faces gave me this idea.

SO here's the deal- You pick a few of the best movie rentals you've seen that were not big hits, because I've already seen The usual suspects and Donnie Darko.

Some that I liked were;

Jacob's ladder
The spanish prisoner
White
Southern comfort

Now, how 'bout you?

I saw Eternal Sunshine, and I enjoyed it a little more being familiar with the poem that the title was taken from.

I'll look into the butterfly effect.

Thank you!

Saw - great film. Knowing that you're a cerebral person, you'd enjoy this a lot.

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead - Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Richard Dreyfuss. Need I say more?

Super Size Me - Gak. All I have to say. Excellent film.

Fargo- Not only is it an excellent film, but Steve Reevis, the gent who plays the mechanic, is a friend of mine.

Pleasantville - Not the greatest script, but beautifully shot.

The Truman Show - guilty pleasure.

Some old school things...

The Serpent & The Rainbow
The Changeling
Blood Simple
The Prophecy

I saw Rosencratz And Gildenstern are dead in the theatre if you can believe that.
I liked Supersize me and Fargo as well.

I have not seen Pleasantville.

I saw Blood simple and Changeling when I was very young ny memory has dimmed a fair bit.

I remember Blood simple being a bit coebn brothers -esque and very deep and complex but I was quite young then.

I will check out Prophecy and Serpent & Rainbow, if I can find them.

Big Lebowski is a good one....
although I can't remember if it was a big hit or not.
I'll check back in if anything else springs to mind.

I have a copy of that because all my friends thought I bore a resemblance to Jeff bridges when he had his long hair and goatee, so they bought me a copy.

Sacre-man!

Well, we don't rent movies because my husband had some kind of beef with a rental place years before we met. But I can tell you the oddest movie I watched one late night...accidentally thinking it was some kind of fluffy remake of a fairytale. Not so, I learned as I sat hiding behind my couch pillow in horror.

It was only until after the movie did I learn that it was called:

Snow White: A Tale of Terror

Now that sounds bizarre, if I see it I'll grab it.

Its sort of a cult scary movie with Vin Diesel not the best acting but a great scary/thrilling movie.

With Le Femme Nikata, my two favorite all time movies (ok and I love Beetlejuice, but I wont og there)
