As one of the few conservatives here on LJ, I can assure you that Bush does not want to kill everyone off, that would be bad for business. He's a cowboy, and doesn't give a damn what others think and that's why Canada, Germany, France have their undies in a bunch over him. Actually Germany and France don't like him because he queered their cozy moneymaking arrangement with Saddam. I, quite frankly, like and admire the guy. When I see comments like the one by your whack job friend Ginsugoddess, it makes my blood boil. She actually advocates the assassination of the president.....unbelievable.
Please remove your panties from a wad and desist with the name calling. If you can't tell the difference between an off-handed comment and a serious death threat, then that's your problem. Sure it was inconsiderate, but who cares?
I'm certianly not going to sit here and debate the merits or lack thereof of our president, because your mind is made up, and so is mine. The point of that discussion would be nonexistant, much like your sense of humor.
By the way, if your blood is boiling, brain damage is soon to follow... oops. Guess I should have commented sooner.
There, now you've gotten your barbs in, as have I. I think it's safe to say this conversation is over.
As a person with a graduate degree in chemistry, I view the research with all elements, including plutonium, to be a good thing as long as proper precautions and safeguards are performed. Scientists have an innate curiosity of matter, and if they write a grant proposal and get it, good for them. You know how research goes, a university writes a grant proposal, it's reviewed, and either shelved or OK'd. All of this research comes out of the university-government symbiotic relationship. Bush just happened to be on watch when this grant was OK'd. I was much more concerned when the previous administration allowed, even encouraged Japan to buy up 4/5th of the world's plutonium supply. The logistics of transporting that much plutonium was a nightmare.....and why did Japan need it

One of my favourite things about the U.S. the allegiance to freedom of speech. I love that. I respect your right to disagree but I really don't feel bush promotes freedom of speech. He seems to just keep pushing the right and trying to stifle the left. I don't embrace either side but I believe in a fair playing field. The recent moves to back PBS with right wingers reflects this. To me it seems the book is already out on Plutonium, and the research has been done. I don't think any university students wrote a proposal for secret missions and national security but I'll have to check on that. You are an intelligent man, but there seems be a situation where your arguing style is starting cause people to comment on my journal less. Your comments are always welcome, and as I said I believe in Freedom of speech so I would just ask that if you think someone is out of hand, please try a respectful approach because I like everybody to feel very comfortable here in saying whatever they want.

I thnk George W has done some good things he did most would not have the guts to do in responding to the 9-11 situation.
However, 9-11 happened on his watch, not Reagan's or Clinton's. Could that be becasue they didn't come off so arogantly?
I think Bush has a wanton disregard for the public and sees
human beings as an expendable asset.
Why else would he activate Plutonium 238. The Americans who work wiht that stuff will die. It's not a joke.
There a billion different weapons he could choose to develop that are not toxic to it's own people.
Not to mention what happens if there is even one accidental spilling.
There is no way to make this good news.
