Whew! Did you make it through
the first post? I can be quite wordy. :)
As I mentioned, these are the meals I've made for the last month. I do have to admit something... Some weeks have less recipes than others - those are the weeks where McDonald's may have cooked one of our dinners.
Week 1
- Hamburger steak (cook hamburger patties in a skillet with mushrooms, top with gravy from a packet or a jar, serve with mashed potatoes and green beans)
- BBQ chicken (brush chicken breasts with bbq sauce, bake in a 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Top with crispy, cooked bacon and cheese. Place back in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted).
- Manicotti. I used this recipe with these instructions, so that I wouldn't have to precook the shells.
- Beef cups
- Roasted chicken with rosemary au jus
Week 2
- Breakfast for dinner
- Turkey melt sandwiches
- Chicken and pasta with sundried tomato pesto cream sauce
- Tacos/taco salad
- Meatball subs (using rest of the buns from earlier in the week... Heat frozen meatballs in spaghetti sauce, spoon onto bun, top with cheese and broil in the oven until the cheese is melted.)
Week 3
- Homemade sloppy joes for lunch
- Chili and homemade cornbread for supper
- Gumbo!"
- Roasted turkey (this must have been Christmas week!)
- Perlo (Josh's family 'recipe'...you take the drippings from the turkey and use that in place of water to cook rice. Mix in leftover shredded turkey. Yum!)
- Sausage/cheese/crackers for lunch
Week 4
Week 5
Guess I had more saved than I thought!
