Hmmm, what's been going on lately (wait..is this actually going to be a real post?!?)?
Well, as of Wednesday, my sister is officially married. Yes Wednesday. I don't think there's a single person I've told that to who hasn't said "wednesday?". Be a little more open minded people. "Merely because practice is prevalent may be the poorest reason for continuing it." It actually makes a lot of sense, because it was a very small wedding (almost only family) and because this way they don't have to miss as much work/class and can take the honeymoon over the weekend.
The wedding went very well. It was at a small park in Springfield. Yours truly was the maid of honor. =) No, I didn't wear a dress (only got that question a few times, ah the obvious creative statements that are becoming so generic). Since my sister doesn't have a lot of female friends, she felt it'd be more meaningful is she had her two brothers stand for her. Her husband had his brothers and a best friend stand on his side.
Other than that, hmmm. Classes are starting to keep me pretty busy. Working full-time (okay, over 40 a week) and taking 9 hours of grad school can do that to you. I so just want to get this degree done with as soon as possible.
Other news: drank way more than I should on Thursday night. Had 13 whiskey (cheap whiskey) and cokes within about 2 hours at Orlando 21s (it was free from 9-11). Friday I went home and took an hour and a half nap during lunch. Felt okay, just really tired for most of the day. So, as I'm driving home I start not feeling well. Stop at Walgreens to pick up a gatorade to rehydrate myself (had a pub crawl to go on that night after all!). About a mile from the house, I have to pull over in a parking lot. I get out of the car and puke. Not a big dose, bug a few nice little hacks. I also start sweating and feel pretty flush. I made it home and laid down for the next hour. Felt a lot better after that. Grabbed my gatorade and off we headed for the crawl.
The crawl was a 'bus crawl' for breast cancer (drink a beer, save a boob! -- not the official slogan, one guy just came up with it last year). It was a pretty good time. Needless to say, I decided not to get sloppy drunk, and refrained from any hard liquor. They had free beer on the bus, but no drink specials at the bars (suck). I ended up having around 8 beers and calling it quit. I just wasn't getting drunk, I honestly felt clearer as the night went on. Ended up having to make a run for the border on the way home, eat, pop in Spaceballs, pass out.
I seriously need to start getting a little more productive (and a little less drunk -- at least during the week).
Okay, that's all I've got for now. Probably more than I've said in the last year of LJ posts, which by the way, I just recently bumped any posts from 2003 off of my 'last 20 posts' view. =)
