what does everyone feel about religion? From an Idealist point of view...do you feel that religion and type are similar/different/totally unrelated...?

i find this very interesting. Mostly i threw the question out there because i am undergoing some religious changes and i was sort of stunned because it's the last thing i expected. however, i have to say that accepting a new religion has made me feel, as a person, far more comfortable than ever before. so i thought to question if it was something that pertains to type. I haven't been able to form any conclusions at all, and considering religion is such an unknown mystery, chances are i won't see any patterns. but i'm willing to look for them anyway, to satisfy my curiousity.

Would it be a fair statement to wonder if perhaps organized religion or religious wars and all that...is it possible that they are actually personality clash wars? If we take into retrospect that a religion or belief is only what we interpret it to be, then is it possible that our aversion to religion may be the problem and not the religion itself?

I used to try and type religions in my head. i know that's crazy, but i used to think what type was buddha? jesus? mohammed? i assumed that people formed relationships with their religion, and that they were likely to follow someone who had the same personality as them. for example, I thought "Jesus was obviously an idealist..." (lol, i hope that's not blasphemous or anything) but then i realized that there are christians in every type group. And i think that goes for all religions.

I used to try to figure out how religion worked and then i realized that a LOT of people were doing that and have been doing it for years, and nobody is getting anywhere with it. so i gave up and gave into religion and i think it was a wise move, lol. i think that humans need to have a religion, humans need to believe in something, and humans need to define their relationship with god. I don't think that excluding god from our society is doing us any good. I think when humans go expaining or exploring for religion, they are actually going through a personality growth stage.

this is just what i think. if anyone else thinks differently...comment?
