Today I learned from Seth's book that it's not just my complaint...Rhode Island actually is full of terrible drivers. The worst, in fact! I suppose that only do they not choose to use turn signals or go in order at four way stops, they actually do not know what to doIn other news, tonight I am going to see Korpiklaani and Tyr play in Worcester! Korpiklaani????? Oh man! I hate how Nashville gets ZERO awesome viking bands. ZERO.

The closest thing to cool seafaring bands we got were Great Big Sea, and it was while I was abroad. *kicks self*

Aw. I usually have to drive an hour (or several) to see anyone but at least everywhere in New England is within the "several" range.

You must catch some good bands traveling though! All my favorites play more in the UK and Germany than here....

That's true. Every summer it is like a crazy palooza of everything that I love.

This is why I can't get research done. I'm too busy doing very very verboten things and releasing the rage of another year of academic imprisonment.

And every summer I wish I were in Europe! (Iceland does not count. Oddly, no metal bands go there, ever.)

Can't you just grab a few hot long-haired viking descendants and demand they bang some trashcan lids together shirtless for you?

Actually, it's surprisingly hard to find an Icelandic metal band! They're more into indie/prog rock as far as I can tell. They're also not into long hair (or being hot, for the most part, which isn't to say there aren't exceptions). I do enjoy the mental picture you create though.

In...unrelated news, I'm becoming increasingly convinced I need an excuse to go to Finland.
