Random interjections on yuletide and the holidays

First off, I would like to say a large thank you to whomever sent me a gift of LJ tokens the other day. I don't know who anonymous is, but I really wanted to say how much I enjoyed getting that email in my inbox that morning ♥. It's always lovely to be thought of, no matter how.

It's probably a good thing that I'm suffering from insomnia tonight, considering how slow Archive of Our Own is loading for uploading yuletide fics. Why yes, I did manage to finish. Close to 7500 words in four hours - and they weren't all gibberish when I went to heavily edit. It's always a challenge to randomly switch fandoms, but I did manage to produce something I'm actually willing to put my name too, ha. There was another fandom I wanted to indulge the recipient in by writing a second fic, but I simply didn't have time to reacquaint myself with all the canon required though I really wanted to. *deliberately vague* My recipient is so like me is it scary however.

I was weak enough to check and see if I had a 'gift' waiting for me, which I do. Yay for my writer not defaulting, and knowing I'm going to have a fic in an incredibly rare fandom waiting for me to read.

Christmas time is always the busiest time of year, between parties, shopping, and preparation. I have yet to buy a gift though, ha. In theory I could have gone today, but on my first attempt I could literally not find a parking spot. Anywhere. I'm hoping tomorrow after work it's a little more reasonable, otherwise it's going to be a gift card Christmas for too many people - which I truly hate to do.

general, writing is a cruel mistress
