I know I've had lots of stuff to talk about but I just found out that Live Band Karaoke is returning on Saturday and I can't decide which song to do. Last year I did "Rock and Roll" (VU, not Zep)(a downright sacred song to all VU fans because we all have had an experience like the one in the song--you basically had to have to listen to them) Anyway, potential songs for performance:

"The Angels Want to Wear my Red Shoes"-Elvis Costello (they also offer "Watching the Detectives, and I could do the film noiry part of that one, but...everybody knows it, though it is a song of nearly unparalleled importance in my musical education)
"I'm Not Your Stepping Stone"-The Monkees (so sue me, I only know the version the Sex Pistols played on their mostly lamentable 1996 reunion tour--this song and Glen Matlock are all that saved it).
"Dead Flowers"-The Rolling Stones (knowing the band it would sound like it did on Stripped, I also said I'd come to the VFW last year anddo this song with them the next night)
"20th Century Boy"-T. Rex (one of my favorite songs of late)
"Teenage Kicks"-The Undertones (I'm personally more a fan of their "Get Over You" but it's John Peel's favorite song for a reason, could come off creepy though)
"I Can't Explain"-The Who (Possibly the best debut single ever)

input?

but on the song listing they credited "Gloria" to Shadows of Knight which deserves credit merely for having heard of the band even though the versions performed by Them and Patti Smith (whose is unrepeatable for several reasons (1. it's really long and winding 2. it can be quite offensive 3. it's Patti Smith) are much more famous (as in more people have heard those recordings than have ever heard of Shadows of Knight)
