(no subject)
sorry for all the posty-ness. i just did a friends only entry, but i figured id be more in-depth in this one.
so today at work i had a more than boring day until later on in the evening when i so got a $3 tip from this awesome guy b/c i wrapped some gifts for him and rang him up and was nice i guess haha. thats so rad! ive never gotten a tip in my life. but then again, ive never worked a job that required people to give tips. i was in shock. i guess the right thing to do would have been to split the money w/ the other girl that helped me wrap, but she was kind of a bitch earlier in the day, and she wasnt around when the guy came back to pick up his packages, so i figured eff it, its all mine :). haha im so selfish!!
the power went out at work for like 30 seconds. and the generators kicked in and then the power came back. it was so creepy. i was in the middle of wrapping something and poof. no electricity and my register completely shut itself down.
its so fun being register gal and like knowing things about computers and being able to impart my wisdom on the older ladies that i work w/. theyre all so funny. and the owner was so cute today. shes this nearly 80 year old lady who is so unbelievably sweet and she kept trying to give me food and when she saw me taking my drawer back to the cash office she stopped me and asked if id be working tomorrow b/c its always so nice to see me. hah i think she may think im someone else. cuz come on...am i honestly that nice to see?
another lady today told me that i have a very nice face, one thats very friendly. and i told her that i just like to show off my good moods to people. but when im in a bad mood, i like to just hide until it goes away. which is uber true.
im pretty content with this job. so much so that i took an open shift from 4-8 tomorrow evening b/c someone needed a shift covered. i figured that it was pretty decent to work those hours. plus i totally get paid $8.25 and hour to stand around and barely do anything. i just talked to customers, handle returns/exchanges, wrap the occassional gift, and hang out w/ my other Customer Service pals. its a pretty sweet deal so far. and i hope it stays that way ::knocks on wood::.
